It’s rugby season down here in New Zealand. It’s also netball season. New Zealand is hosting the Rugby World Cup, which starts in September. All of this puts me in a sports mood, so my teaser this week comes from Bella Andre’sGame for Seduction, a football themed romance. I’ve just started reading this romance.
“Honey, I thought you already knew this—no one in the business will ever take a female football agent seriously. Especially not a cream puff like you.”
She’s not a good girl anymore . . . now she’s GAME FOR SEDUCTION.
The daughter of a powerful sports agent, Melissa McKnight has harbored lust-filled fantasies for Dominic DiMarco ever since she was an awkward teenager, when the San Francisco Outlaws’ gorgeous wide receiver became her father’s superstar client. Now Melissa’s a beautiful, tenacious associate in her father’s firm, and being around to-die-for hardbodies is all in a day’s work…until tangling with Dominic at a photo shoot blindsides her with passion.
Dominic has built a flawless career by being in control-on and off the field. And despite his intense desire for Melissa, he’s not about to seduce his agent’s daughter. Until Melissa stages a power play to break free from her domineering father-and winds up at an edgy bar on the wrong side of town. Dominic thinks he’s rescuing the innocent Melissa he met years ago . . . but one night of sizzling passion reveals a woman with no limits-including a penchant for hot sex in public places. If anyone’s breaking all the rules of seduction, it’s sexy, irresistible Melissa.
But Dominic has a secret from years ago-one that could ruin his sterling reputation and take Melissa along with him. Will his bad boy past bind them closer together? Or will they crash and burn?
My special guest today is author Randi Alexander. Randi writes about sexy cowboys–my favorite type of hero. She’s celebrating her recent release, which, luckily for me, has a cowboy hero. Over to Randi.
I want to thank Shelley for having me here today. (You’re welcome!) I’m Randi Alexander and I write cowboy erotic romance. My first book, Chase and Seduction was released May 27 from The Wild Rose Press’ Cowboy Kink line.
I had a moment of clarity last night. Since I’ve been writing spicy romances, the relationship between my husband and me has changed significantly. He used to like to sling an arm around my shoulders and pull me in for a kiss, then whisper something warm and inviting in my ear. He’s always been very romantic.
But when I started writing true-to-life love scenes, I would enlist his help to test the logistics and accuracy of certain…encounters. He’s always been very willing, and it’s made a difference in my writing, as well as keeping our…encounters…fresh and full of variety.
But last night, I slipped into a little black negligee, lit the candles in the bedroom, and dipped some strawberries in chocolate. When he came into the room, he smiled, and said, “Okay, what are we doing tonight?”
He was expecting a script, complete with staging and directorial notes. “No,” I said, “we’re not testing anything tonight.” I fluttered my eyelashes at him, flipped my hair back, and struck a pose.
“Oh.” He sounded disappointed. “All right.” So now he made it sound like it was going to be a chore.
Suddenly, I was second guessing my long-ago decision to use my hubby as a crash-test-dummy (or would that be sex-test-dummy?) Had I turned him into a robot, making him respond only when directed? A Stepford husband? Then I smiled. This might not be all that bad. It had brought a lot of spice to our lives, and the variety keeps us interested and edgy. And the morning after, he’s always commented on how he enjoyed our ‘production’, which is amazing to hear from a guy.
“Put on your cowboy boots and Stetson,” I told him, accepting the inevitable. “Tonight we’re a bull rider and a buckle bunny!”
“Yee-haw!”
Country music superstar/actor Chase Tanner has yet to be denied anything–and he’s never wanted anything or anyone more than gorgeous screenplay writer Reno Linden. So when the film they are working on is finally finished, Chase decides to turn up the volume on seducing Reno.
Reno Linden lived a quiet, rural life until she was thrust into the Hollywood scene when her book was adapted to film. Chase Tanner is larger than life, sinfully sexy and hell-bent on getting her into bed. Skittish after a failed wedding engagement, Reno risks the plunge into Chase’s arms, and is surprised that her good girl self can keep up with bad boy Chase.
Though Chase returns to his cowboy roots often, and Reno cherishes the time spent with him on his ranch, the two find their careers pulling them in different directions. Will their attraction survive the glitz and stress of fame?
EXCERPT: Over 18 only
Chase’s laugh bounded across the patio.
Reno turned. He stood on the other side of the pool with three very famous actors. Her heart paused then stampeded in triple time, and her breath caught. A reaction she hadn’t experienced since high school.
Tracy said, “Chase Tanner is much handsomer than those pretty-boys. He should be in more pictures. He’s so…” She scrunched her face then smiled. “Rugged.”
Unexpected tears burned the backs of Reno’s eyes as she memorized him, filed away this moment to view whenever she felt alone. She’d miss him. Terribly. “What do you know about him?”
Tracy’s tone turned conspiratorial. “He’s thirty, but he tells women he’s twenty-seven.”
Reno bit back a smile. He’d told her the truth. That was a good sign.
“And he’s from Kentucky, an only child,” Tracy continued. “He wanted to be a songwriter, but he won a singing contest when he was twenty, and got a contract with an agent.”
Reno knew all this from their private talks during filming, but she wanted to hear the Hollywood gossip. “Where does he live?”
“He’s got a beautiful ranch in Texas, right on the Gulf.”
He’d be heading east to the sunny Gulf, she’d be heading north to the barren cold. So far away from each other. Worlds away.
His laughter echoed across the pool.
Reno closed her eyes. How would she live through this?
To celebrate the release of Chase and Seduction, I’m giving away, to one lucky *commenter, an e-copy of my novella Her Cowboy Stud. Just leave a comment today and we’ll choose a winner tomorrow. *Commenter must be 18 years of age or older to win.

My special guest today is author, Casey Sheridan who is celebrating the release of her new book Ruby Red Metallic. Over to Casey.
After spending eight hours at the daytime dungeon the other day, I was mentally pooped, but I knew I needed to sit down and write this post, or at the very least come up with a theme.
I did some serious contemplation that lasted a whole three seconds. I decided to procrastinate by doing a bit of yard work instead. I changed into some old clothes and armed myself with a pair of gardening gloves (I don’t like the thought of touching bugs) and my loppers, then headed out to chop down unwanted greenery growing in unsightly places throughout my yard.
This procrastination only lasted twenty minutes as I had a neon sign inside my mind flashing “BLOG POST, BLOG POST, BLOG POST” in a most annoying way.
I put my stuff away, cleaned up my mess and went inside to write, you guessed it, my blog post.
I don’t mean to give the impression that I didn’t want to write this post because that certainly isn’t the case. I was just tired. I spend fifty hours a week at a day job, then there’s house cleaning, yard work now that spring is here, laundry, shopping, helping out my mother and trying to figure out when I can do some actual writing. It all gets a bit much sometimes.
Anyway, I sat in my comfy chair and looked out the window at the apple tree in the backyard. It’s filled with large glorious blossoms and its soft fragrance wafted through my open window. It felt good to just sit there and admire the beautiful tree, to watch the rich orange and black colored Oriole hop along the branches sucking nectar from the delicate blossoms. I held my breath when a jewel colored humming bird hovered at some of those blossoms right in front of my window. Those birds are so small and so beautiful.
Those few moments made me realize how many things I miss. There are times I’m so focused on getting things done I forget to stop and take a breath. Does that ever happen to you?
Even Alaina in Ruby Red Metallic took some time to appreciate the park like setting that Scott took her to.
Alaina got out and strolled around the car, making sure to examine the well-shaded rest area. Many trees surrounded it, flowers bloomed in pots placed around the little building that housed the bathrooms, and a light breeze passed by. The air smelled fresh and sweet. – from Ruby Red Metallic
From now on, I’m going to try and take some time every day to “stop and smell the roses” (as the saying goes).
How about you? Do you take time out from your busy schedule to “smell the roses”?
****
Casey Sheridan began writing erotica on a dare, and she loved writing it so much she never stopped. Her work has been published by Breathless Press and Cobblestone Press, and has appeared on The Erotic Woman, Every Night Erotica, and RSVP-Erotica.

My teaser today comes from Navarro’s Promise by Lora Leigh. So far I’ve found the start a bit slow, but I do enjoy Ms. Leigh’s Breed series and will keep reading.
God, she loved that little hint of an accent. Just a hint, one was never certain it was really there, but the sound of it just stroked across her senses like an erotic caress.
page 41, Navaarro’s Promise
Blurb:
In the wolf breed novel, NAVARRO’S PROMISE, Mica Toler’s best friend is the wolf/coyote hybrid breed, Cassie Sinclair. And now Mica is being drawn into her world in ways she had prayed she never would be when the charming wolf breed Navarro makes good on the promise he made her on a dark, explosive night.
The Breeds guaranteed that no harm would come to Micah Toler but they never allowed for her sensual fascination with Navarro Blaine. Aloof, cool, and mysterious, he draws her in as no man ever has. But Micah never wanted this. She had her own dreams, her own desires, and being stalked and seduced by a wolf breed wasn’t part of that plan.
Now she knows her life is in danger. What Navarro knows is that she’s his mate and that the breeding and training that created him is being peeled away in his desperation to claim a woman that refuses to be claimed.
He has her body. She craves his touch. And as the breeds converge the past will rise up to haunt Navarro in ways he never expected.
My special guest today is Loose Id author, Lori Toland. She’s here celebrating the release of her book Trust in Me. Over to Lori…
I love Beta Heroes. You know, he’s the guy who is totally geeky. He probably wears glasses and typically can fix your computer or entertainment center. Or he may be the guy who has his nose in a book and has a deadly sharp sense of humor. He might also be the science or math go-to guy who spends his days slaving over equations.
But once you get him into bed, he blows your mind. In between books and equations, he has been thinking about the many ways to sex you up and make you beg for more. He’s what a like to call a Beta to the world but an Alpha between the sheets and he is the sexiest hero alive.
Some famous Beta heroes are Sherlock Holmes, Gregory House and Indiana Jones. All of these guys are sexy and they use their brains to get where they need to be. They may be snarky or polite but they are incredibly smart and they always get laid.
Tristan is a computer nerd, with the glasses to go with it. He never thought Jamie Hunter, the high school quarterback and hot man on campus would be gay, let alone be interested in him. One hot August night changes all of that and Tristan for the rest of his life. Ten years later, he meets the man he fell in love with. Can he let go of the past and risk his heart again?
Thank you Shelley, for having me by to talk about Trust In Me. I hope you all enjoy it!

My special guest today is author, Desiree Holt. Desiree is a writing machine and Downstroke, her recent Ellora’s Cave release is her 100th book. That’s pretty impressive. I asked Desiree how she keeps going, and this is her reply…
The realization that I was about to hit one hundred on my release list actually snuck up on me. My web mistress was revising my printable book list and asked me how many I had in release. Counting up to Romantic Times Booklovers Convention I realized that my first April release would be #100.
And I thought, Holy Cow! One hundred stories? I didn’t realize my brain was packed so full.
But for those people who wonder if my creative juices have stalled or my ideas are laying dormant, I say, nay, nay. I think I’ll be writing until my fingers don’t work anymore.
For one thing, almost every day a new idea comes to me. Maybe it’s in the newspaper, or from something I’ve seen on television. I have a very hunky UPS man and I’m considering making him the hero of one of my stories. Maybe he’s delivering a package with some kinky toys in it. Every single person I see or talk to or just pass on the street lights a bulb in my head.
I think it’s because I have such an insatiable curiosity about everyone and everything. Remember that old program, The Naked City? The opening gambit was a voice saying “There are seven million stories in the naked city.” Well, that’s how I feel. Everything and everyone becomes a nugget of a story to me.
One of my little tricks of the trade is that I work on more than one story at a time. That way if I hit a wall with one I can leave it for a bit and move to another. It also keeps the ideas in my head fresh and active.
I was a daydreamer when I was young and I think I still am. I carry a notebook in my purse so that no matter where I am, if the idea for a story strikes me I can jot it down. I no longer trust my memory for that. I tried that once and when I came back to the two lines I’d written I couldn’t for the life of me remember what I wanted to write.
Also, I’m an avid reader and I usually read genres different from those I write. That way I give my brain a rest and I also don’t let someone else’s thoughts bleed into my head. What do I do when I want to read anything erotic? I shut down my computer for a couple of days except for email and take a reading break.
Then, when I’m back at it, my mind is refreshed and my stories come alive again.
I think another point is that I never get tired of creating and never run out of ideas. And I get input from many sources. I have great writing partners and we bounce ideas off one another. For my action adventure stories I can always count on my son (although we never discuss s-e-x). My younger daughter gave me the idea for my Night Seekers series.
So how do I keep going? I do it with pleasure and a voracious appetite for creating. As long as that adrenaline keeps racing through my body, my fingers will keep pounding the keyboard.
And I hope you all will keep reading.
Here’s the blurb for Desiree’s 100th release, Downstroke

When she looked back, he was standing beside the toppled sedan, his shoulders sagging as if he carried a sack of stones. The secret he’d revealed to her two days ago weighed heavily on her as well.
