Seducing St. Nic with Emma Petersen

Today I have another Deliciously Decadent December author for you – Emma Peterson with her new release Seducing St. Nic.

And just to recap: Deliciously Decadent December is nine Ellora’s Cave authors with December releases. We decided we’d promote one another’s books on each other’s blogs, AND we’d give away copies of our new releases as we go.

On days we don’t have new releases to give away we’ll have books from other authors to give away and some of them will be our guests at the Deliciously Decadent December Yahoo Group, which you can join here. So drop by each day, where the nine of us will be visiting with guest authors and other readers. You’ll find an updated list at the Deliciously Decadent December Yahoo Group.

Excerpt

Barbara Jean Ruiz’s life has never been what anyone would call glamorous. She lives in an okay apartment, in an okay neighborhood and has an okay job with less-than-okay wages. Her life is…okay.

Then her luck starts to change. She wins a gorgeous fur coat. She gets promoted and her new boss is none other than the super-sexy St. Nic. Cypriano San Nicolo is everything a woman could want. He’s tall, dark, handsome, rich, successful and, oh yeah, the evil undead.

After nearly a century of self-imposed sleep, St. Nic has only two uses for humans—blood and sex. Until he meets Barbara Jean, his irreverent, wisecracking assistant. If he shows up at her apartment just before dawn, she’ll have to take him in. Into her bed, if everything goes as planned.

Here’s Emma’s question for everyone. If you could confirm the existence of one supernatural being which would it be?

My answer: It’s simple. I already know the Middlemarch shifters are real. What???? You don’t believe me. Surely you don’t believe I make all that stuff up?

Party!

It’s hard to believe it’s the first of December tomorrow (in New Zealand) and it’s almost my birthday again. During the month, I have lots of special guests to help me celebrate. And, since it’s my birthday, there will be presents.

I’ve had a great year with ten releases – Cat Burglar, the tenth one is coming out on 31 December. I’m going to give away one download of each of my releases. That’s ten winners, one for every release. All you need to do to go in the draw is comment on one of the posts. Of course, the more comments you make, the higher the chance of winning a prize.

I’m also taking part in the Samhain Holiday Hunt that starts on 1 December. Details are available here.

And finally, I’m running a contest over at Author Island. The details are here.

One more thing – the Nov/Dec version of my newsletter will go out this week. There’s a special member’s only contest plus a sneak preview of Cat Burglar. If you’re not already a member, there’s a sign-up form on the right sidebar. Don’t delay!

Back in Business

One new laptop later, I’m back in business. I had to dip into my holiday fund, which is a big pain, but the new laptop is very good. I’m not finding Windows Vista too bad so far. I also have a new external hard drive to use for backups along with my old flashdrives.

Mr. Munro and I had a busy weekend. We computer shopped – boy, what an experience that was. You really have to shop around for the best price. The service varies so much from shop to shop.

I threw away my old crosstrainer shoes when I was in the US since they were worn out. Rebel Sports had a sale so I’ve replaced them with a pair of running shoes. Yes, it’s true. I’m going to take up running again. When I was younger I used to run up to 10km a few times a week. I don’t know why I have the urge to start running again, but I decided to go with the flow. Any other runners out there?

Yesterday we stopped at our local Farmers’ Market before heading to visit family. The weekend just seemed to vanish. Suddenly it’s Monday again. The good thing is that I seem to have my writing mojo back. It’s returned from holiday and I’m looking forward to completing the book I’m working on at present.

Christina Phillips interviewed me a couple of weeks ago. You can read my words of wisdom here.

My Dynamic Trio buddy, TJ Michaels is having her annual Holiday Hotties contest. I’m giving away a download of Cat and Mouse. Find the details here.

The Disappearing Water…

A few months ago I couldn’t figure out why the dog’s water dish was always empty. It’s a heavy china dish and our dog doesn’t tip it over, yet no matter how many times I filled it up, the water seemed to vanish. Being a writer I immediately thought of fairies and tiny folk, but no, the answer was much more mundane.

I happened to hear a kaffuffle outside. It wasn’t Scotty since she was asleep in her basket. When I peered out the window I saw a thrush standing in the middle of the water bowl, madly flapping its wings and having a fine old time. Water was shooting in all directions. After a while the thrush jumped out and flew off. Almost immediately a blackbird jumped in for a bath. That’s right – they were queuing up to take a bath in the dog’s water dish. Mystery solved. The birds wait until our dog comes inside then they perch on the outdoor furniture, waiting their turn to take a bath. When they’ve finished there’s hardly any water in the bowl and all the pavers in the surrounding area are wet. The birds have become quite cheeky, even taking a bath while the dog is sleeping a few feet away, and I’ve become resigned to my new job as pool attendant.

Ellora’s Cave author, Wylie Kinson is holding a special competition, involving photos and angels, to celebrate the upcoming release of her book Law of Averages. Check out all the details here.

Oops! I’m in BIG trouble. Mr. Munro has just arrived home from work and I didn’t notice his haircut. He always notices mine – in fact he usually rings me and tells me I look beautiful. In my defence I tell him I’m going to have my hair done, so he has a chance to remember. He springs his haircuts on me without warning. I must try to do better next time…

Fancy Free on Sale Today

Woohoo! Fancy Free is out today. I’m having a dreadful time posting anything on the internet tonight, so hopefully this post will work.

I’m a guest over at Danette’s blog today and I’m giving away a download from my backlist. Here’s the link.

Fancy Free by Shelley Munro

Warning: Condoms were tested and a few harmed during the writing of this story.

It’s not every day a girl inherits a condom company, and to say accountant Alice Beasley is astonished and out of her depth is putting it mildly. For an almost virgin, she needs a quick education in all things condom because her inheritance is in danger. Someone is intent on sabotage and playing nasty, trying to destroy her new company.

Alice is suddenly getting down and dirty with charismatic James, the factory manager, all in the name of business, testing new condom designs. The sex is hot. Mind-blowing. It’s a dark thrill and an erotic journey. Yeah, it’s a hard job, but a girl’s got to do what a girl’s gotta do.

The testing turns personal. Alice wants James. She craves his talented touch and sultry kisses, she desires passion and physical pleasure on a permanent basis but first she must convince bad-boy James to give up his fancy-free ways…
