She’s a Wild Child!

This is the cover for Wild Child, which is coming out in Feb 2010 as part of the 28 Days of Heart series from All Romance ebooks.

Wild Child by Shelley Munro

Here’s the blurb:

Zoë Underwood loves Matt Cantrell. Over the years her feelings for him have grown stronger, bigger. More. No one presses buttons on her sexual libido like the tall, dark and gorgeous Matt. He’s definitely the one for her.

When they first met the age difference was a problem. Now geographical distance keeps them apart. And then there’s Matt’s insistence that they should have a platonic relationship—that they should be friends only. A stupid idea. Surely Matt can feel the sensual sizzle between them whenever they’re in the same room, feel the heat when their eyes meet.

Zoë is determined to snare her man. She wants one thing—Matt’s love. It’s time for her to make a move, stir things up a little and take a chance on love.

I’m giving away a print copy of Romancing the Alien at Access Romance today. (4th December)

If you’d like a copy of Romancing the Alien and you’re not the lucky winner in the Access Romance contest mentioned above, surf on over to the Ellora’s Cave site. They’re having a huge sale on print books.

Random question for the day: Do you prefer a beach holiday (as portrayed in Wild Child above) or a mountain holiday with skiing, hiking and the like?

Reviews & Sale (of sorts)

I really admire the people who review books–it’s a job I couldn’t do. I have to admit that before I wrote, I never read them. These days I read my own, of course, but I’ll usually flick through the other reviews that come through at the same time. A review doesn’t usually sway my purchases, but if I see lots of good reviews, sometimes I do get tempted to buy. I never search for reviews before I buy a book. Do you check out reviews before you purchase a book?

I’ve received reviews recently for House of the Cat and Make That Man Mine.

House of the Cat Make That Man Mine

Megan at Veiled Secret Reviews says, “With an abundance of lovable characters playing against a backdrop of stars and alien worlds House of the Cat is a rollicking thrill ride that will keep you turning page after page…With so many secondary characters steeling your heart and the mystery of Ry’s origins to unravel I can only hope that Ms. Munro plans another visit to the exciting world of House of the Cat.” 4 Dragons. Read the full review here.

Hockeyvamp at Bitten by Books says, “I was totally enthralled with this short novella from start to finish. The erotic play between the two main characters was both flirtatious and arousing. The perceptions of themselves as less than desirable because of the flaws they saw within themselves could be both accepted and desired by the other. I only wish that this had been a full length novel as the sexy and fun banter between the main characters was very entertaining.” 4 1/2 Tombstones. Read the full review here.

In sale news, my story Wild Child has been chosen as one of the stories in All Romance ebooks’s 28 Days of Heart charity campaign to benefit the American Heart Association. The stories will be released in February 2010 and Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse series is doing the forward. Very exciting!

Animals and Christmas

My special guest today is fellow Ellora’s Cave and Deliciously Decadent December author, LA Day. Check out her latest release, Greek Temptation a few posts below! Over to Laura…

Greek TemptationFirst off, I want to thank Shelley for inviting me here especially during her birthday month. Happy Birthday, Shelley, I hope you get everything you want.

For those that don’t know me I love to read and write erotic romance but I have another passion and that is animal welfare. With the holidays drawing so near, everyone’s thoughts turn to giving and we all know of many needy causes. I’m not one to promote one cause over another. There are so many, most are very deserving and I know all of our pockets are a bit lighter this year.

However, there is one cause that is very dear to my heart and that is the protection and care of our four-legged friends. It breaks my heart to see neglected pets and strays roaming the streets, not to mention the number of animals euthanized each year. Every town has a local shelter or animal sanctuary in need of assistance or donations. And, let’s not forget one of the easiest and best things we can all do is have our pets spayed and neutered.

This year, my daughter and I have decided to give up some of our presents in favor of supporting a local shelter. I know this isn’t feasible for everyone but if you have a few extra dollars or maybe some room in your home remember there is not a more unconditional love than that of a loyal pet.

However, you spend your holiday season; I hope your days are filled with love, laughter and of course hot reading material.

While I don’t usually incorporate pets into my stories, I do write about animals of a different kind…the Alpha Male. Whether my heroes are shifters, vampires, spacemen or executives, they all share a few aggressive, animalistic traits. If you share my passion for two-legged animals check out my website.

Remember, Alpha Males are only a ‘Day’ away!
