Island Living Isn’t for Wimps by Cherish. D’Angelo

I’d like to welcome Cherish D’Angelo (aka Cheryl Kaye Tardif), author of the newly released Lancelot’s Lady.

Cherish D'AngeloWelcome to the fantasy island of Angelina’s Isle, located in the Bahamas. This private resort offers everything a girl could want―relaxation, sandy beaches, an aquamarine ocean, fragrant foliage, a hidden waterfall and a handsome hunk of an owner. Only one problem. It isn’t a resort. There won’t be any lounging by the pool while sipping margaritas for Rhianna McLeod. In fact there is no pool. And she’s not welcome, says the handsome island recluse. No, island living isn’t for wimps, and Rhianna is about to discover why.

The setting for Lancelot’s Lady is one that is close to my heart, a beautiful tropical island surrounded by aqua water and soft sand. I know all about living on an island. I’ve lived on three. Sadly, none of my island homes was owned by a “handsome but irritating recluse”, but one of them was tropical with pink sands.

As a toddler I lived on Vancouver Island in BC, Canada, a beautiful oasis with gorgeous scenery―forests, mountains and the ocean. I don’t recall much from my life there as a toddler except the horses on the other side of our backyard fence. I also recall the time a ghost touched my shoulder when I was lying in bed. I was about three.

When I was 8, we moved to the small town of Masset on the Queen Charlotte Islands, a range of islands north of Vancouver Island. Rugged, wild, very isolated and wet, the Charlottes are perfect for those who love roughing it in the great outdoors. Fishing, clam digging, agate hunting, hiking, deer hunting, bird watching, kayaking―you can do it all on the Charlottes, which were renamed Haida Gwaii in June 2010.

Then when I was 14, my father was posted to the Canadian base in Bermuda. We were all ecstatic. Lancelot's LadyBermuda was like the ultimate reward. Tropical, lush, hot, beautiful, and so welcoming, Bermuda became the home of my heart. As the song goes, “Bermuda is another world”.

I spent so much of my time by the water and in the water, swimming with sea turtles and Sergeant Majors, little blue and gold striped fish. I learned to sail a Sunfish sailboat by myself. I played basketball on a court by the beach. I played in the Southhampton Princess, speaking with a fake English accent and attending their high tea for tea and cakes. Once, at the indoor pool there, I babysat the children of legendary singer, Frankie Avalon.

It is because of the wonderful memories I have of Bermuda that I decided to set Lancelot’s Lady on a tropical island, but I needed one where foreigners could buy property (and complete islands). So I chose the Bahamas. Island living is like being in another world, and I hope you’ll step into Rhianna’s and pick up a copy of Lancelot’s Lady today.

Lancelot’s Lady ~ A Bahamas holiday from dying billionaire JT Lance, a man with a dark secret, leads palliative nurse Rhianna McLeod to Jonathan, a man with his own troubled past, and Rhianna finds herself drawn to the handsome recluse, while unbeknownst to her, someone with a horrific plan is hunting her down.

Lancelot’s Lady is available in ebook edition at KoboBooks, Amazon’s Kindle Store, Smashwords and other ebook retailers. Help me celebrate by picking up a copy today and “Cherish the romance…”

You can learn more about Lancelot’s Lady and Cherish D’Angelo (aka Cheryl Kaye Tardif) at http://www.cherishdangelo.com and http://www.cherylktardif.blogspot.com. Follow Cherish from September 27 to October 10 on her Cherish the Romance Virtual Book Tour and win prizes.

If you could live on an island anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Leave a comment here, with email address, to be entered into the prize draws. You’re guaranteed to receive at least 1 free ebook just for doing so. Plus you’ll be entered to win a Kobo ereader. Winners will be announced after October 10th.

Pretty New Cover

Look at my cover for The Spurned Viscountess. Isn’t it pretty?

The Spurned Viscountess

Here’s the blurb:

She must marry him.

Cursed with the sight and rumors of witchcraft, Rosalind’s only chance at an ordinary life is marriage to Lucien, Viscount Hastings. She doesn’t expect love, only security and children of her own. Determined to go through with the wedding, she allows nothing she encounters at the gloomy Castle St. Clare to dissuade her.

He wants nothing to do with her.

Recently returned from the Continent, Lucien has no time for the English mouse his family has arranged for him to marry, not when he’s plotting to avenge the murder of his beloved Francesca. He has no intention of bedding Rosalind, not even to sire an heir.

Dark secrets will bind them.

Though spurned by her bridegroom, Rosalind turns to him for protection when she is plagued by a series of mysterious accidents and haunted by terrifying visions. Forced to keep Rosalind close, and tempted into passionate kisses, Lucien soon finds himself in grave danger of falling in love with his own wife…

The Spurned Viscountess is due out on 20 September at Carina Press.

Scarlet Woman Tour Starts Today with Big Cats at Book Junkie

Scarlet WomanI’m going out on tour again!

This time it’s with one of my earlier titles, and the very first book in my famous Middlemarch Mates series….Scarlet Woman.

The tour starts at Book Junkie where I’m talking about the big cats that inspired my series—the black leopard.

As usual, I’m doing a giveaway, and this time, the winner can choose any one of the ebooks from my Middlemarch series. Come along and join in the party!

And meantime, here’s the blurb for Scarlet Woman:

Emily Scarlet’s husband left her for his secretary and died in a car accident—all on the same day. Now, six months later, Emily has emerged from her chrysalis of painful memories. And to prove she has what it takes to attract a man, she’s determined to experience one perfect night of passion.

Feline shape shifter, Saber Mitchell has a problem with his four boisterous younger brothers. They’re out of control. It’s too late for him, but he hopes to get his brothers mated and settled, and the ball is the place to introduce them to marriageable women.

Unbridled sex is the last thing he plans on, but one glimpse of Emily Scarlet changes his mind. Sex with her is a necessity. They dance. They make love.

One thing is clear—a single night isn’t enough. Saber must have her for his mate, but Emily isn’t so easy to convince…or trust.

The Wild Child With Heart

Excerpt Monday LogoWelcome to the New Release Monday. This month, in addition to our typical excerpt week, we’re showcasing new releases by several fabulous EM writers. Excerpt Monday site! or click on the banner to the left.

Wild Child Wild Child by Shelley Munro

Wild Child is available for sale on 2 Feb at All Romance eBooks. I’m really excited about the release of Wild Child because it’s part of the 28 Days of Heart promotion, and all the proceeds from the sale of this book go to the American Heart Association.

I was born with a heart murmur and spent several days during my childhood and teen years undergoing day-long tests and doctor visits at an Auckland hospital. I’m one of the lucky ones, because my murmur has never stopped me doing anything I’ve wanted to do–I’ve lived a happy and relatively healthy life.

I hope you’ll support this worthy cause, and buy my book, or one or more of the other 28 books that will be on sale at All Romance eBooks this month.

Here’s the blurb for Wild Child:

Seize the day…

Zoë Underwood loved Matt Cantrell from the moment her mother married his father. She definitely thinks of him as more than a big brother and even though he moved away from home the moment their parents got married, her feelings for him have grown stronger, bigger. More. No one presses her buttons like the tall, dark and gorgeous Matt. If only he can get over the eight-year age difference.

Now, Zoë is determined to snare her man. She wants one thing—Matt’s love. It’s time for her to make a move, stir things up a little and take a chance on love.

And a short, spicy excerpt (because this is a very hot book):

Total darkness shrouded the room, the whisper of breathing the only audible noise. Matt smiled. After stripping his trousers and boxer shorts off and placing them beside the bed, he tugged back the covers and crawled into bed. Marisa lay on her side, facing away from him. He slid closer, smoothing his hand across her shoulder. Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to her bare back. She smelled of flowers—carnations to be exact. Nice. Different from Marisa’s usual spicy perfume. He liked this one much better.

When he nuzzled behind her ear, she stirred with a sleepy sigh. Smiling, he pressed a kiss to the smooth skin and stroked his hand down her arm and across her hip. She murmured again, starting to rouse. Good, ‘cause he was definitely beginning to stir, his cock pressing insistently against her curvy backside. Time to rev up this interlude. He slipped a finger into the valley between her butt cheeks and traced a path to her pussy. Her warm flesh parted. She sighed and spread her legs a fraction, just enough for him to graze his finger across her clitoris. She moved again, pressing her luscious ass against his swollen cock.

Marisa had put on a bit of weight. He liked it. With soft, gentle strokes, he massaged her clit until the tiny bud swelled. Marisa stirred again and froze. Then, she let out a shriek loud enough to wake the dead in the local cemetery and leapt from the bed.

“Keep away from me.” The note of fear told him she wasn’t playing games.

“I’ll get the light.”

“No! Just go, and I won’t tell anyone.”

He froze in the act of reaching for the light, his gut churning with acute apprehension. He knew that voice. Suddenly, all the new things he’d noticed about Marisa made sense.

With a sick, sinking sensation in his stomach, he fumbled with the bedside lamp. Soft light
bathed his room. He swore, low with feeling. “What are you doing here, Zoë?”

Instead of answering, she stared at him with big, brown eyes. When her gaze dropped, he cursed again and reached for his trousers, rapidly stepping into them and forcing the zipper over his erection.

“Put on some clothes.” There was a distinct snap in his voice. Self-loathing sat heavily in the bottom of his gut. His mother and John would die of shock if they found out. They weren’t going to find out. He sure as hell wasn’t going to confess to his monumental cock-up.

“I’ll make coffee.” He strode from the room but couldn’t resist a last look at her. She caught him in the act, and he jerked as if touched with a hot poker. Matt swore. Her curvy image was seared on his retinas for life.

Instead of making coffee, Matt padded across the terracotta tiles and headed straight for his liquor cupboard in the ultra-modern kitchen. He opened the door and pulled out the first bottle that came to hand. Whiskey. Unscrewing the cap, he drank straight from the bottle. The peaty flavor cut across his taste buds. He closed his eyes and swallowed. Mistake. Zoë’s sexy shape flashed in front of his eyes. He’d—Matt shuddered, still able to feel the warm, clinging flesh of her pussy.

“Do you grope every woman you find in your bed?”

“It’s my bed,” he snapped, his eyes flicking open. She wore his robe belted around her trim waist. Shit, he wasn’t the one in the wrong here. He was the innocent victim in this…debacle. “You were naked.”

“Because the airline lost my luggage.” She folded her arms across her chest. His eyes followed the move, noting that in the years since he’d last studied her closely, she’d filled out in a spectacular fashion. His cock jerked, reminding Matt he required satisfaction. But that wasn’t going to happen. Not with this woman at any rate.

She’s a Wild Child!

This is the cover for Wild Child, which is coming out in Feb 2010 as part of the 28 Days of Heart series from All Romance ebooks.

Wild Child by Shelley Munro

Here’s the blurb:

Zoë Underwood loves Matt Cantrell. Over the years her feelings for him have grown stronger, bigger. More. No one presses buttons on her sexual libido like the tall, dark and gorgeous Matt. He’s definitely the one for her.

When they first met the age difference was a problem. Now geographical distance keeps them apart. And then there’s Matt’s insistence that they should have a platonic relationship—that they should be friends only. A stupid idea. Surely Matt can feel the sensual sizzle between them whenever they’re in the same room, feel the heat when their eyes meet.

Zoë is determined to snare her man. She wants one thing—Matt’s love. It’s time for her to make a move, stir things up a little and take a chance on love.

I’m giving away a print copy of Romancing the Alien at Access Romance today. (4th December)

Random question for the day: Do you prefer a beach holiday (as portrayed in Wild Child above) or a mountain holiday with skiing, hiking and the like?
