Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
~ Grab your current read
~ Open to a random page
~ Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
~ BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
~ Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I haven’t read any category romances for ages, but this week I’ve read two. This is my current read – Coming Up For Air by Karen Foley. It’s a military romance from Harlequin Blaze where both hero and heroine are helicopter pilots.
Without taking his eyes from her, he thrust his cue toward the nearest man and caught her hand firmly in his own as he pulled her toward the dance floor. He swung her into his arms, and finally Jenna knew first-hand what it was like to have all that strength and grace surround her.
page 16, Coming Up For Air
Subject: Army Major Chance Rawlins, Helicopter Pilot.Current Status: Soon-to-be-deployed to Afghanistan.
Mission: Report to Captain Jenna Larson for a sexy, one-night inspection.
Obstacle: She’s mistaken him for another man!
Major Chance Rawlins has a bit of a reputation, both in and outside of the helicopter cockpit. He’s a hotshot, and he knows it. But when he enjoys a spontaneously naughty night with Captain Jenna Larson, Chance realizes Jenna has no idea who he is and that she’s mistaken him for his twin brother!
Since it was just a one-nighter, Chance decides not to give the game away. But when their paths cross again in the dry heat of Afghanistan, Chance sees an opportunity to show Jenna exactly who he is—and what he can do to her. After all, the best pilots know when to hold back and when to engage in a little sexy fire!

Nice teaser. I’m reading Illuminate by Aimee Agresti. Ch. 11, page 144..I woke up on the floor-my first clue that last night had really happened. I had hoped it was a dream, another bad one, but no, I was on that worn, matted-down carpet in my T-shirt and jeans. The only pleasant surprise: the swelling above my eyebrown had miraculously managed to deflate.

Hmm…the twin brother trope. Sounds like a fun one to read. I grew up with Harlequins.

I did too, Brinda. I hadn’t read any for ages, but I was in the mood for a quick read and grabbed these out of my to-read mountain.

Sounds like you’ve picked another good one, Shelley. I hope to pick up Insurgent this weekend. How’d you like Zombie?

The zombie started off a bit slow for me but picked up in pace. I’m liking it a lot. I’m sure you’ll enjoy Insurgent. I listened to both of the Divergent books on audio and loved them.
