Rejection 101 and an Interview

Defeat is not bitter unless you swallow it ~ Joseph Clark.

When I was a baby author and very wet behind the ears, I wrote my first manuscript. A masterpiece, I thought. I sent off my manuscript and eagerly waited for my contract by return mail. Three months later I received a rejection. I was crushed. Read the rest of my post at Savvy Authors.

I’m also visiting TBR today, the blog where you’re sure to find new reads. I did an interview, and I’m also doing a giveaway. One person who comments will win a download from my backlist. Here’s the link to my interview.

For some reason that site would not let me comment. But I think that advice can be applied to many things in life.

Thanks, Ella. I’m definitely stubborn when it comes to going after something I want.

Enjoyed your interview over at TBR and loved your Rejection recall at Savvy Authors. I love your mention of chocolate. It really is helpful. And I firmly agree that it is a very bad idea to shoot off an emotional response to a rejection. Agents and editors talk. No one wants to black-ball themselves with an irrational act.

Angela – I guess shooting off an emotional response to a rejection helps some people. It really is shooting yourself in the foot.

      BTW – chocolate cures everything!
