This Day Many Years Ago…

It’s my birthday today–well, in New Zealand. It will be my birthday tomorrow in the Northern hemisphere – December 8. Definitely an auspicious day!

I received a wonderful review for House of the Cat from JERR (Just Erotic Romance Reviews)

House of the Cat Karen said, “House of the Cat is a great adventure saga and love story, fresh with new beings, new worlds, and definitely new animals. Ry did as much to help Camryn as she did for him. She also became the sole focus of his uncontrollable, constant, blinding need for sex that plagued him in spite of medication to stop the desire. The interaction between the crew members, all different species, and their reactions to Ry and Camryn’s very heated and constantly everywhere sexual relationship kept me entertained as much as the mystery and adventure. Lots of surprises to keep those pages flipping as quickly as the reader can scan them. House of the Cat is thoroughly entertaining as well as very physically stimulating. Of course, it does have Shelley Munro’s name on it, which usually means you can count on a great reading experience. House of the Cat is certainly no exception!”

I’m taking part in one of the four Scavenger hunts sponsored by Samhain Publishing authors. Win a Kindle or a Sony ereader plus lots of books. To learn details of how to win an ereader visit the Samhellion.

During the month of December there will also be free short stories for readers to download at the Samhellion. I have a short story called Turning Point that will be available for download on 17 December. Turning Point is a sort of a prequel to my upcoming Samhain Publishing release called The Bottom Line.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do on my birthday. I know I have edits I need to do, but I’m thinking I’ll have some down time as well.

How do you like to spend your birthday?

  1. Happy Birthday!

I like to have everybody’s attention, be pampered, given presents, and totally take the day to do what I want! lol Ok, I’m not that selfish, but I do like my birthday.

  2. And who is going to be giving the presents and all the pampering, cooking dinner, washing the dishes, etc?
Oh, that’ll be me! Nothing different then!
    Happy birthday Shell.

  3. Happy Birthday, Shelley. May it be wonderful.

    I like to read.

  4. Happy birthday, darling!

I sure had an interesting birthday this year. We were in Canyonlands National Park, and since it was Easter Sunday, we found an open Mexican place and had dinner there.

Definitely an odd way to turn 40…

  5. Happy Birthday!!! *throws confetti* I always spend the afternoon with my family on my birthday and usually go for dinner with my husband that evening. It’s not extravagant, but I enjoy it!

  6. Happy Birthday Shelley!!!!!

I usually celebrate my birthday in a low key way. But I don’t want to cook – that’s my one rule. So we usually go out to dinner. :)

  7. I either spend it at home by myself or I go to my sister’s depends on what kind of mood I get up in.

  8. LOL – Mr. Munro – Now I know what all that tapping was about on your iTouch last night.

Thanks for the cup of tea this morning and the chocs and wine. It’s your fault if I put on weight.

  9. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. It’s a gorgeous sunny day – a good day for a birthday!

  10. I celebrate my birthday eating as much cake as I want to since I forego cake the rest of the year.
I also buy myself a preset in the form of the latest book I want to read.
Anyway, hope you got what you wanted for your birthday.

  11. Happy Birthday, Shelley!

I like quiet down time on my b-day.

  12. Happy birthday Shelley! Mine was yesterday…great time of year to be born. ;)

  13. Happy Birthday, Shelley!
I hope it is a great one. :)

I usually have to act surprised when my mom shows up at my door, even though I know she’s coming over every year. lol She’s so cute.

But I’m usually tired because my mom likes to call me at the time I was born, which would be 4:28 AM! She wishes me happy birthday and tells me to go back to sleep. lol

I usually get my mom a bottle of perfume or something that I know she will like because she did do most of the work the morning I was born, after all.

And she brings me a red velvet cake, which is my favorite cake.

  14. Happy Birthday, Shelley!!

I love my birhday! It’s my day! :) Which usually stretches into a week! lol Any reason to party, right?
I think you should do what ever makes you happy! It’s your special day to have fun, so why not make the most of it?

Hope all your wishes and dreams come true!

    Hugs,
    Colleen
