I returned home after eighteen months overseas and went to a dance in St Kilda Town Hall, triggering a whirlwind courtship of fourteen days before we both disappeared in different directions.
After many letters and too few, all too brief meetings over the next three years, we were married...forty six years ago...and we are still as deeply in love.

Shelley....that's what I think too. You just know you were meant to meet someone when you can't stay away from them and they make you happy. :)

First guy I met at school. we were in an archaeology class together. The next came skateborading into my life, and into the coffee shop where I was writing. Another played music with my brother... love at first sight... yeah, he's the one.

Amy - my man brought me home chocolates yesterday. Presents! That's good, although if I eat these I might need the gym.

Linda - that's true. I read romance because I know there will be a happy ending. I really don't like pretend romances with a dodgy ending.

Colleen - I bet you're glad he plucked up the courage to ask you out.

Most people that aren't in my family don't believe me when we tell them how we met. But we were both going through a tough time in life and had tried to commit suicide the month before, so we were both in the psychiatric hospital. That's where we met.

We were both there for several months and in that time we got to know one another and when we got out, we dated and things just blossomed from there. We've been together for 20 years now and have a 18 year old daughter.

I sometimes think we were meant to find each other in that hospital, because we finally found happiness.

I don't think your MIL was being insulting, I think she wants you two to stay together, hence she doesn't want you going to the gym seperate from each other, because of what happened to her neighbor.

I met my husband through my best friend. She (at the time) was dating his best friend. They're not together any more, both have married other people but me and the hubster are still going strong. If it wasn't for our best friends dating we would have never met each other. He was on one side of the province and I was on the other.

Toronto is kind of the middle, and until I met my hubby I had never been West of Toronto. LOL!

I met my husband at work! He was the supervisor and liked me bossing him around. lol
It took him three months to get the courage up to ask me out! We've been together 21 years this last July. hehe
We've had a lot of fun over the years and it sure has gone by fast! It seems like I just blinked and here we are. It's funny how things work.

Good post, Shelley! Stirred up some funny memories in my little head. hehe

Well let's see, I met my first husband in school and that didn't work out. Met my second husband at work and that didn't work out. Frankly with my luck I've given up looking. Maybe that's why I love romance books so much, the romance always works out. Well unless it's in a Nicolas Sparks book.
