Man-Cold!

Photobucket

I have one. A man-cold that is…

I’m sneezing and my nose is running. I told Mr. Munro that I had a man-cold…a really bad one. He laughed, but at least he made me a hot toddy with whiskey, honey and lemons. It helped, but I still have a man-cold!

What’s your favorite remedy for a cold?

Poor bud. I take it you’ve seen the man cold video:) I have an ear infection. We’ll commiserate together.

It really does help to have a shot of whiskey or something that will burn your throat…numb the uncomfortable side effects of a cold. ;-)

Sorry you are not feeling well…try to take lots of naps. Hard to do, but it seems to speed up the recovery time.

    *hands you a tissue* :-)

    Hi, Shelley!
I wish you were feeling better.
I DO believe that rest is quite effective for clearing the head.
I also take various pills (even though these and vitamins are the only pills/medicines I keep in my house): I take Vitamin C if I THINK I’m starting to catch a cold (because this is the cheapest pill). If I KNOW I have the beginning of a cold, I’ll probably take echinacea. If the cold appears out of nowhere and is a BIG-TIME cold, I haul out the heavy artillery (that is the most expensive): Cold-FX. I sometimes take Tylenol too, if it’s a sinus cold (as I’m not able to take aspirin).
The trick is to keep your mind clear, which is not an easy feat.
    Good luck with that!

Here’s hoping you’ll be feeling better soon, Shelley. I do the C and Zinc too as well as sometimes Zycam for a cold. Though if it’s more than a cold, nothing seems to help. Yeah, a man cold… take care of yourself.

My mom used to make cough medicine out of whiskey, honey and lemon. I don’t know if it helped my cold, but it sure tasted good! My favorite mixed drink to this day is a whiskey sour, LOL.

    Hope you feel better soon!

I hope you feel better soon, Shelly. A Man Cold is soooo bad. When I have one, I drink a lot of juices, take two asprin every four hours and get lots of rest. Oh yeah, I am also a total bitch to everyone until it’s gone!

Poor you. Remedy? Probably Lipton’s Chicken Noodle Soup. The dry soup with the short noodles. Only I hardly make any broth, I just like chowing down the noodles.

    I’m strange.

Gingerale is a must too. Canada Dry of course. LOL!

    Get better. :)

Feel better, Shelley! Get lots of rest. :)

Oh, and side note…I love meerkats. They’re my favorite animal at the zoo. ;)

Thanks so much for all the best wishes. I’m actually feeling a lot better this evening. I think the hot whiskey did the trick.

Cari – I love Meerkats, too. They’re just so dang cute. I like watching Meerkat Manor with Flower the bossy one.

    Poor thing!

You may have a man-cold but at least you have a good man taking care of you.

A daily tonic I use is a half-teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with a half-teaspoon of honey in 8 oz of water every morning. This keeps the system clear of harmful bacteria and actually reduces the effects of a cold when it appears. I may have sneezing and a runny nose, but the chest congestion never really develops.

Before I began using apple cider vinegar I had repeated bouts of bronchitis that were dificult to get rid of. It’s been over a year since I’ve had bronchitis from the time I began using this tonic.
