Blurb:
Laura Adams is a cop with ambition, and a job in Middlemarch isn’t what she wants for her future. Hooking up with the wrong man is responsible for the wrong turning, and she refuses to repeat the mistake, especially with a sexy thief.

Leopard shifter Jonno Campbell takes one look at Laura and desires her as his mate. He’s enthralled with the fiery cop, and when she arrests him, he’s ready for a strip search. Convincing Laura he’s innocent and that they should work together to capture the thieves stealing from Middlemarch residents isn’t easy. A kiss laced with his easy charm does the trick and sparks fly. Passion escalates into primitive hunger. A night of hot loving convinces Jonno. He wants forever with the gorgeous Laura, but her ambition, his feline heritage and a gang of thieves stand in the way of his progress. Then there’s the ex-boyfriend who wants Laura back. This time charisma and erotic promises might not be enough to win the lady.

I hope you had a great birthday month, Shelley!

Do we really want them to change their spots? Honestly? Isn’t that what makes the bad boys so irresistible?

Now, I think normal people can definitely change if they want that change. It isn’t enough for someone to want them to change. It’s like quitting smoking. You won’t do it if someone tells you to–you’ll only be successful if you want it for yourself, if you’re ready to make the change.

It is the constant challenge of trying that keeps us on our toes. But no, I don’t think a leopard can change spots. He can improve but underneath, a person stays basically the same.

    Happy New Year Shelley!

    Congratulations on the new release

I think a leopard can change it’s spots if it’s ready and willing to change them.

I think it depends on what you consider to be “bad”. Just because someone else thinks so does not mean i will. I do believe though that personalities cannot be changed, but commitment….definetly.

I do believe leopards can modify their behavior if they have the right motivation. It’s mind over matter. If you really want it, then yes!
    Happy New Year!

Happy 2009, Shelley! I think that we *can* change, but it usually isn’t easy and mostly has to come from within, so some extra special motivation helps! But I love reading about reformed bad boys ;)

People can change but have to want to. Most of the time bad boys are not evil so do not really need to change but refine how they do things a little to blend in better which usually happens with age.

    Oh I LOVE shapeshifters!

Yes I do think a bad boy can make the best husband material. In fact that’s what my parents told me when I was younger. Of course they waited a couple of years while I dated nice guys.

I think a bad boy gets the wanderlust out of his system. When he finds the right one he knows because he’s experienced the wrong ones already. I guess you could say he won’t get buyers remorse. He won’t feel like there’s someone better around the corner or that there are experiences he’s missed out on.

Besides that spots can be fun!

Sure, a leopard change change his spots. Well not literally, but figuratively speaking, of course. We are all capable of change. We just have to want it enough.

Julie – thank you! Yes, Cat Burglar has been up at Access Romance for most of the month.

Happy New Year to everyone. When it comes to change, I think a person has to really want it and be 100 per cent sure of the change. I never make New Year’s resolutions because there’s nothing that is that important to me. Besides, when I want to make a change I don’t wait for a new year. I take action immediately.

Now when it comes to bad boys, my thoughts are that at their very core, bad boys are great human beings. Their hard, rebel outer skin usually hides a marshmellow core. When they fall for a woman they tend to do it with everything they have and decide a change is necessary for their happiness. That’s my five cents…

    That’s funny, Shelley!

I guess I just didn’t notice it before then ’cause it wasn’t on my radar yet.

I think we all love the bad boys. I know I don’t want to read about a boring doormat hero (or heroine).

Especially when I’m thinking I’ve got more balls than this hero! Oh, wait, I think that about a lot of guys in real life!!

Well, as I first started as reader in the Regency genre, I always remember that saying “Reformed rakes make the best husbands”.
I agree with you about resolutions, Shelley. The important ones should be made immediately, not put off to a certain date.

Janet – definitely. No boring, doormat heroes allowed!

    Julie – LOL – you’re funny.

Kaisquared – ah, a reformed rake. I remember reading quite a few of those stories.

    Karin – thank you!

OMG! I let 2 days of my vacation slip by without reading you book and I have to go back to school on Monday! Eeeekkkk! Okay I’m better now because I bought it. Now I jut need to clear my desk so I can read it.

You popped by my blog so I’m sure you read my new year’s resolution and even though it’s only day 2 I think I’ve made a good start that once I get it rolling will help me keep it going all year and hopefully even longer. So do you have any old coats or clothes in your closet that need to be donated too?
Hugs and all the best for 2009! (Like more Middle March books, ok?)
