HOW can there be NO comments yet ESP with that Rain God story?
Yowza, that sounds AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Ooooh, a question about Menage?
Um…why I like it? Why is it popular? Besides the obvious? lol
Welllll…I like it best when it’s M/F/M mostly because… I like the idea that the woman is worshipped and that’s what it always seems like. Oh, sure, she loves them right back, assuming the question is regarding ROMANCE erotica and not pure erotica… I like the plot to be meaty and convoluted and by being so, the characters have a chance to shine, to grow and for the emotional bonds to strengthen. With a menage, the balancing of three personalities, the different likes and desires three people bring into a monogamous three-some is amazing! Well, when they are written right.
I also like it when there is respect of the differences between the three. It’s not all about the sex but when the personalities click, Oy Chihuahua! Great reading!
Why would I not like it? Depends on the personalities…if one is over the top jealous and hurtful and is so insecure in the relationship yet the author continues to keep the trio together, it becomes too painful to read. I have only read one book like that and the HEA was undermined by the contant angst – I didn’t believe it.
Since that is the ONLY thing I can think of as a negative, guess you can say I like my menage stories.

OMG, these both sound AWESOME!! I especially love the cover for Rain God!
I’m new to menage stories, but I like that it takes the idea of fantasy to whole new levels.
Happy Decadent December !

Hi Shelley, Deliciously Decadent December is off and running. What a great topic to start. Menage. Mmmm. Fantasy and sexual tension galore. Creates an interesting dynamic between characters and their emotions. Congrats to Cheryl and Amy and their new releases!! All the best, Kathy

Michele – I love menage a trois stories, too. I like to see a little bit of push and shove with jealousy at first. I think that’s natural in any relationship where we juggle to see where the goalposts are set.
And I’d have to agree. It would take special people to make a relationship like this work.

Both of these sound great!

Both of the books sound fantastic.
I love a good menage book. M/F/M are always my favourite. I’ve read some really good menage stories in recent times. I’d recommend Fringe Benefits by Shelley Munro.

Congrats to Cheryl and Amy–these new release both sound very tempting! As for menage, I do enjoy reading them sometimes, but at times it’s also a little too much–I can’t imagine juggling feelings for more than one person on such an intimate level!

Hi Shelley! I haven’t visited in a while so its the first I knew about this Triple D of authors and looking forward to chatting more too!
I remember reading my first menage, a m/f/m and it was an tingling read! And I think that the fantasy of the menage makes for it a popular read! I don’t know how popular it really is in relationships but makes you believe while reading of these fantasies. And too the characters being able to ‘let go’ and feel with everything, mind and body. I think that’s what pulls me in for them!

Hi Caffey! It’s great to see you. I remember being a bit shocked but I grew out of it quickly. A menage a trois written by a great author makes me believe.

Hi Shelley, finally getting around to wishing you a wonderful birthday month. The Deliciously Decadent authors blogs have been fun to post to, with lots of great stories to add to my wish list. And menage storylines always make the list. Love a good romance story, and a menage, m/f/m, can be wonderfully erotic and a deeply loving romance story to boot.

WOW, these sound yummmmy!!
I think menage’s are popular because they are a forbidden fantasy.
Me…I love them! I like the idea of not one but two men concentrating on the heroine! Guess that’s a fantasy for me! Don’t know about the reality though!!

What’s not to like about two men or more pleasuring you? I love the way the authors usually bring in two men of different characters and emotions into the story.

Congrats on the new releases and the fantastic contests. I know I love Menages and love to see more of them in print.

I think Menage’ is so popular because it is a common fantasy of a lot of people-to have 2 people totally focused on your pleasure. I know I’d love to have a menage so maybe one of the guys could actually make sure I get turned on and come, where as my hubby takes the time to get himself off and leaves me behind more times than not.

I like meneges as long as it has a happy ending. These books sound great.
December 6th, 2008 at 9:01 pm · Link
At heart, I am a romantic, believing in the ideal love between a man and a woman, the yin and the yang. BUT if I was going to go menage, I would prefer 2 men/1 woman to 2 women/1 man.
No offense to any religions here, but I used to have these two Morman guys coming to my house to try to convert me. I finally figured they must have thought I was a soul that needed saving because I would wear my Metallca shirt to greet them, or be sloppily dressed in some way.
FINALLY, one day, I told them that they might as well quit trying to convince me to be one of their ‘harem’ because I thought they had it all wrong when it came down to men and women. I mean, who would want one man with two women??? Because once the man’s finished, he’s done. That’s it. And one of the women is gong to be left unsatisfied. Whereas if there were two men to one woman, then once the one guy came, then the woman, who can orgasm multiple times, could continue to do so with the next man.
They never came back.

Kim S – Yes, the forbidden fantasy. I think it would take very special people to make a relationship like this work in the long term. I’m a romantic though, and like happy endings, so I believe!
Tamsyn – Two male characters is a great way for an author to have fun as well. Why do you think we enjoy writing these stories. I’ve just finished writing Leticia’s Lovers and fell in love with her two men. I wanted to push Leticia out of the book and take her men.
December 6th, 2008 at 9:30 pm · Link
Gayle – there are lots of great threesome stories out in the e-world and quite a few coming in the print world these days. I think readers are spoilt for choice.
Carolyn – the fantasy of having two men totally focused on the woman is a good one, I think! The woman needs to be emotionally strong in herself though to deal with two males. A story like this makes for interesting character conflicts.
December 6th, 2008 at 9:33 pm · Link
Lexee – I prefer a happy ending where all three end up in a stable relationship. The stories where one male is chosen over the other irritates me a bit. That’s a personal thing.
Julie – when we lived out in the country we used to get a lot of visitors like this. My sister still does. I must mention your story to her next time I see her.
