The One On The Edge

In the last couple of days we’ve visited several National Parks. Grand Canyon is amazing and photos simply don’t do it justice. I made some other tourists laugh when I shrieked at Mr. Munro because he went too close to the edge. Cripes. I would have been a mess if I’d had kids as well. One husband was bad enough.

We stopped at a Meteor Crater. It’s big enough to fit twenty football fields inside and the astronaunts do some of their training here. While we were there another of the afternoon storms came, complete with lightning. They cancelled their afternoon tour because there were so many lightning strikes.

We also visited Petrified Forest National Park. I really enjoyed this park since it was so different. There are entire forests that have been petrified and the interior of the logs is a beautiful rich red color. They say that they lose 12 tonnes of petrified wood each year because of stealing and enforce a stern policy of no theft.

Mr. Munro and I have discovered a strange thing. We’ve obviously been married for too long because we’ve started dressing alike. I know! Scary, right? We can dress in different rooms and end up dressing in the same colored shirts and shorts. A server at Starbucks commented on it, asking if we’d done it on purpose. We’ve started consulting as to what we’re wearing now before we leave our room.

    Wow, some great landscape.

Btw, I’m sorry for not commenting of late, but some pic in your sidebar freezes my screen and I have to close and reopen the net connection. I had to type this in Word and post before the screen froze again. It happens since the Thursday 13 before you left.

Nice to hear and see the photos of the wonderful trip you’re having. Husbands, and men in general, seem to have this ingrained sense of safety inside while we fret and worry over ledges, edges and other areas which seem terribly dangerous.

As to dressing the same, you’ve been married a good long while and it’s natural to pick up intuitively what the other is going to wear or do. Happens with my man all the time.

Gabriele – I’ve no idea what I’ve done. I haven’t changed the sidebar so that shouldn’t be causing a problem. Oh, I wonder if it has something to do with the fact I’ve updated my WordPress to the latest version?? That might be it.

Barbara – I’m glad we’re not the only ones. It’s so funny. We have to laugh about it!

Nancy – I’m looking forward to your visit tomorrow.

JK – we are having a great time. There’s so much to see. You have so many old things. New Zealand is a very new country and we don’t have the history that you have here.

I’d love to visit the Grand Canyon one day. (although you wouldn’t catch me going near the edge either!)
