Today is the grand opening of The Danger Zone - a group of authors who all have adventure in common. It’s an honor to be part of this group, and I hope you’ll check out what we have on offer. Adventure. Peril. Intrigue. Just one click away…
I’ve updated my website with a new page/excerpt for Cat and Mouse, the fifth Middlemarch Mates book. Enjoy!
My arm is giving me real problems this week, which is why I’m a little quiet. Using the computer seems to aggravate the condition. Sigh. I guess I’ll have to catch up on housework instead.
Happy Mothers day to all mothers out there. I hope your families are spoiling you because you deserve it!

Hey, Shelley! Sorry to hear about your arm pain. I had something similar recently (racing towards deadline) and after suffering some massages to reduce tension in my neck, shoulders and upper arms, I looked hard at how I was sitting while working. I found I was leaning forward a bit while typing and hunching slightly. If I kept my feet flat on the ground and sat properly (as per the examples on the ACC website) the pain in my arms minimised and I had a whole lot less tension in my upper back area.
Now, if the sciatic pain from lifting a box of wine bottles from a stupid supermarket trolley would just go away life would be great! Congrats on the sale to Samhain btw! You rock!
by Yvonne Lindsay May 11th, 2008 at 7:18 pmooh, just remembered. I noticed using the mouse caused more pain too so for a couple of days I tried swapping arms/hands for mouse use and/or having the mouse at the same height as my keyboard (on the pull out keyboard tray beneath the desk surface, as opposed to on the desk surface itself.)
by Yvonne Lindsay May 11th, 2008 at 7:19 pmThanks for the tips, Yvonne. I suspect I’m doing exactly what you were doing - leaning forward a bit while typing. I’ve been using different hands for the mouse etc today and that’s helped heaps. I must check out the ACC site.
Oh, and thanks for the sales congrats. Samhain is a great company so I’m thrilled to join the fold.
