Why should I not have you for my husband?” He grabbed her quickly and embraced her, burying his face in her black hair. “You would have chosen me, Tanwen?” “I chose you long ago. You just didn’t notice.” He rocked her, grabbed her curls in his hands, felt her clasp him in her arms as tightly as she could. They stayed that way for a long time as she wept. His unshed tears burned. His heart crushed to hear her sobbing. Breaking their embrace to gaze on her, he saw her need in those brown eyes. He bent his head to hers, pressed his lips to hers. Tanwen’s mouth was more tender than he’d ever dreamed it could be. But there were questions in her caresses. Took me awhile to get back to the kiss-a-thon - glad it’s still here!
