Go, Go Gadget!

It’s no secret to my hubby that I love gadgets. When I say gadgets I mean little and big things that make life easier. They’re not necessities but rather luxuries. Recently we purchased an Ipod. It’s not an expensive one, but I’ve had a lot of fun working out how to use it. My favorite gadgets are my PDA, the Ipod, my alphasmart and my laptop. The jury is out on the PC at the moment since it’s misbehaving big time.

Recently my sister gave me this little gadget thingie that fits on the edge of a desk or table and you hang your handbag off it. Perfect for the conference. I’ll have to bring it to San Francisco with me.

Funnily enough, I don’t like gadgets in the kitchen, although I know you can get some great things these days. When it comes to cooking I prefer a hands-on approach and like to do things manually.

Are you a gadget person? What are your favorite type of gadgets?

My 70 Days of Sweat came to a halt late last week since I needed to do some edits. I think I’m at about 11,000 words to date. I’m not pushing too hard because I know from experience I WILL burnout if I don’t pace myself. Hubby keeps telling me to take things easy. Can anyone say grumpy when not writing??? Hubby has firsthand experience of this, hence his warning to chill. Anyway, I sent the edits off this afternoon and hopefully I can get back to Sven and the sweating thing tomorrow.

Lauren Dane, one of my Dynamic Trio buddies has sold another book to Berkley Heat. Isn’t that great? Hop over to her blog and congratulate her, and while you’re there check out the cover for Undercover. It’s beautiful and very sensual.

  1. I love gadgets. I’m shopping for a PDA now. Just bought a new laptop. My Alpha is old, but I still love her. I also have a coffeemaker fetish. Just bought a coffee grinder, so I can buy whole beans. I luvs it!

  2. My husband is all about the gadgets, LOL! And thanks!

  3. Nancy - there’s nothing better than the smell of freshly ground beans. That’s one scent I really love.

Lauren - LOL - My hubby likes gadgets, too. And you’re very welcome!

  4. I am a gadget person. Right now I am looking and comparing ebook readers.

  5. Hiya doll! Thanks for popping by the blog. I’m going to post again about Fancy Free tomorrow. I’m only on page 73 but it’s fabulous!!! Now do I really have to wait until Aug for my Middle March fix? Take care, and the new gadget sounds interesting.
    Hugs!

  6. Estella - I ended up using my PDA for ebooks, mainly because they’re not readily available down this end of the world. I really wish they’d get a universal format.

Hiya, Amy. LOL - yes, sorry, you do need to wait until August but the good news is you’ll have two, possibly three Middlemarch stories close together. I’ve just sold Cat and Mouse and I’m working on another one right now.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Fancy Free.

  7. Congrats to Lauren. She whipped me at online scrabble on Facebook! LOL!!

I’m trying to pace myself, but my muse won’t let me. There’s a drive in there.

Hmmm as for Gadgets, I don’t think I’m a gadget person really. Other than my computer and MP3 player.

I’m pretty simple. Although I have seen those things you’re talking about and I’ve thought about getting one. Trouble is my purse gets loaded down with … I don’t know what so I might snap the dang thing. LOL!

  8. Amy, I’ve heard Lauren is pretty good at scrabble.

Good for you. I look forward to seeing lots of Amy books in the future then.

As for my new gadget. I haven’t tried it out yet, although my sister assures me it’s robust.

  9. My husband is the gadget nut here. He recently bought one which in theory lets you do away with the tv, dvd, foxtel and goodness know what else remotes. Um, yeah. It looks like something a pilot uses in the cockpit!

  10. OMG, my hubby wanted one of those. At the moment we have remotes everywhere, and I’m always picking them up. On the plus side I can work them. A cockpit? Probably not so much!
