Three things that I think make writing good and powerful are:
1. Excellent world building - no matter how improbable I’m able to suspend believe because of the wonderful world building and make the journey along with the characters.
2. Characters that are well-rounded and totally believable and who react in ways that make sense to any given situation.
3. a plot that sings with creativity - it might be a tried and true one but it’s given twists and turns to make it new. In other words, a powerful writer can take a tired old plot and make it theirs in a fresh way.
