Hey naughty Nic! I see you’re getting around lately. Not taking after your characters now are you? ROFL, just kidding.

I actually like when authors change up their genres. It shows that the author has a great talent to write across the board and not just get stuck in a rut in one genre. It also gives the reader the ability to read another genre and see if they like it or not and it just might introduce them to other authors that they never would have read before.

Linda Howard could write a non-fiction history book and I’d read it, Katie. LOL! I agree about the different pseudonyms when writing something like YA or Inspirational and Erotics. Definitely needs a dividing line there so readers don’t get a major shock thinking they’ve bought one kind of book and get something totally different.

Isn’t it crazy, Sheila and Laura. My autobuy list is huge and my genre choices have definitely expanded by following authors I like. I need a good blizzard with no power for about a week to catch up on some of my massive tbr list. Don’t think that’s gonna happen here in Florida though. *g*

Hi Nicole–If I find an author I like then I follow them where ever they go. I’ve found that a lot times somehow that will lead me to other authors I didn’t know about and then I end up with more books on my Mt. TBR. Not complaining though, I’m set if we ever get a good snow storm this winter!

Hi Nicole,
I’m glad to hear that another of your ebooks will be put into print. If I like the author I’ll read whatever genre they decide to write in. This way it helps with finding more genres to read and more authors to read. The only complaint is I spend more money when I follow the author around and find new authors to buy from.lol

Yep! I’ll definitely switch genres if it’s an author I love. I didn’t think I would like paranormal, but when I saw Linda Howard wrote something for the Nocturne series I ended up becoming hooked and finding other authors I liked in that genre. One thing I do prefer though, is if an author is going to write on two very different spectrums (for example, YA and erotica) I like them to use different names so I know exactly what I’m getting.

I don’t know if I would follow an author. It would depend on what genre she’s switching too. I like many different genres when reading, but there are a few I hate to read and if she/he switched to one of those then I wouldn’t follow.
