Yesterday I spent the day kayaking with a women’s adventure group. It was my first outing with the group and although I didn’t know anyone, I had a blast. Everyone was very friendly. We traveled over the harbor bridge to Wenderholm regional park, which is north of Auckland and kayaked up the Puhoi river. It was fun, and I didn’t fall in or topple the kayak, which was a plus!
The weather wasn’t the best but I figure it didn’t really matter since I managed to get wet just paddling. Today my shoulders are a bit sore, although not as bad as I thought they’d be. No photos since I didn’t trust myself with the camera near water.
My edits for Assassin arrived yesterday while I was galavanting around so that’s my mission for today. After the last couple of action-packed days it’s actually a relief to sit still.
How was your week? Do you have any special plans for the weekend?

HOW FUN for you!!! Good luck on those edits. My weekend will be spent writing that darn sequel that I’ve been putting off, doing a kids birthday party and cleaning my house for Thanksgiving.
by Jennifer McKenzie November 16th, 2007 at 5:33 pmYour edits sound like more fun actually.
Your kayaking day sounds fantastic - especially since you didn’t have too much in the way of shoulder after-effects. As for me, tomorrow night my mom and I are going to a choir concert by the Festival Singers and Symphony Nova Scotia musicians, performing Bach’s ‘Magnificat’.
by julia November 16th, 2007 at 7:16 pmJennifer - edits are all done. I can’t believe how easy they were. I hope the kid’s birthday party goes well.
Julia - your concert sounds like fun. Yes, the kayaking was fun. I won’t say I’m totally pain free but I feel good after the exercise
by Shelley Munro November 16th, 2007 at 11:13 pmIt sounds like you had a great time. Best wishes with the edits.
by Lucinda November 17th, 2007 at 6:05 amMy week has been crazy, but we’re starting to get into a routine now that we’re in our house. I’ve been writing early in the mornings for NaNo, and I have to say I’ll be happy when I’m done. I love the challenge, but it’s been a lot with everything else on my plate these days.
And it sounds like you had an awesome adventure! I’d love to go on a weekend like that.
by Christine d'Abo November 17th, 2007 at 1:46 pmI had a massage yesterday that was very deep, so now I feel slightly bruised. Need to get to an osteopath!
by Keziah Hill November 17th, 2007 at 3:04 pmThanks, Lucinda. Have a fun weekend.
Christine - I don’t know how you’ve managed your move plus writing. I’m in awe.
Eek, Keziah! It sounds like torture rather than massage!
by Shelley Munro November 17th, 2007 at 6:11 pmShelley, sounds like you had a brilliant day! I’m glad the after affects aren’t too hurty!
