I was just thinking about this last night. We are so used to "perfect" woman that I now find "real" women especially attractive.

I was especially disgusted by how people kept referring to Britney being "fat" at the VMAs. She was totally hammered, but I'd never call her fat.

Ya it's absolutely disgusting. I mean your considered plus size in North American if you're over a size 16. I'm sorry but I am not plus size. I am tall to be sure and a 16 but I'm not a plus size.

It really makes me ill. I hate it. People blame the Barbie, but I don't ... I played with Barbies when I was young and it didn't affect me. I mean girls at the age of 8 or 9 want to look hawt and impress boys. At 8 I was still playing and running and using imagination and boys had cooties.

Yes, it must be really difficult for young girls with all the crazy stuff in the media. I guess all we can do is provide positive role models for our girls, teach them to eat healthily and celebrate who they are as people.

Did you see the news story about the billboards of the naked anorexic model? It was an ad campaign in Italy. The story hit NZ recently. I thought the girl was very brave posing that way because the visuals were shocking.

It's scary how much our perceptions have changed. I'm raising two girls and I'm already having to tell them they're not fat and no, they don't need a diet. And they are 6 and 8!!

Unfortunately, I don't see this getting any better in the near future. Not until women start standing up and telling the media this is crazy.
